Become a Lincolnshire Learning Destination

The Children’s University has confirmed that they will be giving a training event for those interested in becoming a learning destination in Lincolnshire (i.e. if you want to have your activities accredited so that children can enter your activity in their passport).

The training event will be held on Wednesday 16 July 2014  from 10.00-15.00. The event will take place at the University of Lincoln in Lecture Room BH0101 which is located on the ground floor of Bridge House – No. 5 on the linked map near to car parking zones Red and Blue.  Refreshments will be available on arrival i.e.coffee/tea/biscuits etc and a buffet lunch will be provided by the University.

It is necessary for you to register for the training event so please contact Rebecca Hewson-Heathorn by midday on Monday 7th July 2014 via email.  Please complete the following registration form and return it to Rebecca – Registration Form Download [.DOC].

The training event is free of charge. However, it is important to know that a yearly contribution is expected of all Learning Destinations for the local Children’s University branch. Unfortunately we do not yet know how much the contribution is going to be; the contribution level will be determined by the local steering committee. We will do our best to give you an idea of the contribution level by the time the training event is held.

The steering committee is expected to meet soon after the deadline of Friday June 13th by which schools can indicate whether they would like to represent primary or secondary schools in the County. Steering committee meetings will of course take into account the feedback you have provided on the 23rd of May, and it is always possible to suggest items for the Agenda for steering committee meetings. A schedule of steering committee meetings will be provided in due course.
